Traditional Martial Arts Programs
Adults Karate/Kobudo
This class is a mix between Isshinryu Karate (one of many Okinawan karate styles) and Ryukyu Kobudo (traditional okinawan weaponry). Students in this program will be learning a variety of self-defense style techniques that will be taught to them primarily through Kihon (basics), Kata (forms), and Kumite (sparring). In addition, students will also learn about the historical, cultural, and philosophical aspects of the Okinawan martial arts. Students will focus on developing their mental virtues such as confidence, self-control, self-discipline, patience, respect, humility, and perseverance in addition to the physical demands of the training.

Kids Karate
This class is based on the martial arts discipline of Isshinryu Karate, one of many Okinawan Karate styles. Students in this program will be learning a variety of self-defense style techniques that will be taught to them primarily through kata (forms). In addition to kata, skills will be developed through the use of games, drills, and other fun activities to keep them learning in a fun & creative atmosphere!

Self Defense Class
This class is designed to teach older teens and adults how to not only defend themselves in a violent encounter, but more importantly, how to structure their life to avoid “self-defense” situations. Therefore, the classes put a heavy emphasis on mental training first and physical techniques second for the purpose of using the physical skills as a last resort. We work on developing good communication, fitness, a self-defense mindset, self defense techniques, as well as scenario-based training to give the students the tools and skills necessary to stay safe out in the world that is seemingly more and more dangerous.

Strength & Conditioning for the Martial Arts
This program is designed to help martial arts practitioners improve their overall health & fitness while also building a stronger and more resilient body & mind. This class is specifically geared towards martial artists and is not a general weightlifting program. We focus on unique bodyweight exercises and drills that strengthen the muscles needed for punching power, kicking power, and grappling techniques. We often use specialty equipment to mimic other motions found in various karate moves.

Philosophical Discussion/ Meditation Class
This program is designed to help martial arts practitioners improve their mental & emotional health through the art & science of breath control and body relaxation. We also discuss relevant events, situations, and karate philosophy.
